ATENTION ARTISTS! ***UPDATE!***

A friend sent me this link, that explains how AOL's TOS really work:
[link]

So, they say its safe to use one-to-one conversations, and privacy will be kept. That clause is valid only for public posting, like chat rooms, since you are already sending content to several people, includinfg people you dont know.

For me, it relieves me a bunch... but they really need to be careful with these things, because a lawyer can make awful things with badly explained rules.

Now whatever you transmit through AIM, will grant America Online the rights to copy, modify, and publish it.

If you dont believe, check this link: [link]

Greed bastards that want an easy way to rip off people! Its not like DA, that keeps the rights to use our deviations inside DA itself. AIM will allow any of his subsidiaries to use it without needing to have our consent. We still have the rights over it, but they can use it as they please!

Thats one reason I stopped using AIM...

So uh... If I send some pics through AIM to another user does that apply? If so, I'm going to stop doing it.

...Does this mean somehow they are seeing the WG and FA pics I am sending to friends? o_o
jesus fucking christ. You're never safe are you?

Thanks for bringing this to my attention DP. I probably wouldn't have heard of it otherwise, and i would still be sending things through AIM. Not that they'd want my crappy art anyway.... :)

Legaly, they can do it, since its a TOS you can agree or not. But its still morally wrong. I guess it will make more than 50% of the current users leave (including paying members that dont wish to have their privacy violated)
